HYDE ACCEPTS JUDICIAL WATCH
INTERIM IMPEACHMENT REPORT
Barr Endorses Judicial Watch Interim Report's Consideration Judiciary Committee Accepts 145 Page Impeachment Report and 8 Volumes of Supporting Evidence
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Henry Hyde said yesterday his committee would consider in any impeachment investigation the Judicial Watch Interim Report and supporting evidence submitted yesterday on Filegate, Chinagate, IRS-Gate and other Clinton scandals. Congressman Bob Barr, a key member of the Judiciary Committee who accepted the Judicial Watch Interim Report at a heavily attended news conference on Capitol Hill, said that the Interim Report deserved serious consideration by the Committee. Copies of the report were also hand-delivered to Speaker Gingrich, House Rules Committee Chairman Gerald Solomon, and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch.
The Judicial Watch Interim Report is the product of four years of investigation into the Clinton Administration and is supported by evidence obtained through federal court proceedings and over 60 sworn depositions. A copy of the report was provided for each member of the House Judiciary Committee, for Republicans and Democrats alike.
The Interim Report is the talk of the Internet. The Judicial Watch web site (http://www.JudicialWatch.org), where the Interim Report is available on-line, has been inundated with thousands of requests for the report. The Interim Report has been highlighted by The Drudge Report and The Free Republic web site. One "Freeper" wrote in response to the Interim report, "It has one fatal flaw, it is READABLE."
Another said, "Right on, this is what Starr's report should have looked like."
"We are gratified by the firestorm our Interim Report is generating. We hope Congress listens to the grassroots," said Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman. "The Judicial Watch Interim Report puts to rest the lie that the Clinton scandals are 'just about sex.' The Interim Report is full of sworn evidence and other important information on Filegate and Chinagate, among other offenses. In considering President Clinton's impeachment, Congress would be derelict to ignore the evidence Judicial Watch has put before it," Klayman concluded.
