U-WRITE KLAMATH BASIN DOCUMENT (U-WRITE KBD SHORT VERSION
1st Edition 4-2-02 ASCII Format
AN URGENT MESSAGE
The Klamath Basin Document (KBD), supported by your letters, may our only hope of survival. It is imperative that we act positively NOW. No war or terrorist activity can be allowed to deter our efforts. We have our own fight for survival to tend to. Gross violation of our Constitution by our own government can no longer be tolerated. This document will help Scott Valley and the rest of the nation. All must write.
Personal letters are urgently needed to get the attention of our leaders in Washington, DC. Forest has done all the research and work for you and has sent the necessary documents to Washington, DC via Priority Mail, Certified, Return Receipt Requested. Now thousands of personal letters sent the same way are necessary to let those leaders know that we expect them to act favorably on those documents.
The KBD has been converted to U-Write. About 15 minutes per letter will do your part in this very important mail campaign. Start with your Representative in Congress.
Eight letters are needed from each resident of writing age. Following is the order of letters:
1. Your one Congressional Representative. Send to Home State address to avoid anthrax stall in DC.
2 & 3. Your two Senators in Congress. Send to Home State address to avoid anthrax stall in DC.
4. President Bush, President of the United States. He's the CEO, the Chief Executive Officer.
5. Vice President Cheney, President of the Senate by Constitutional edict. He's the COO, 2nd to the top.
6. Dennis Hastert, Speaker of the House of Representatives, in line for president if the VP opts out.
7. Tom Daschle, President Pro Tempore of the Senate in the Vice President's absence.
8. Chief Justice Rehnquist of the Supreme Court of the United States. He's the top judge.
The addresses of Rehnquist, Bush, Cheney and Daschle will be the same for all of us. Use the Home State address for Hastert. Use Zip To It to locate your Congress Critters in other states.
All documents are scholarly documented on the Internet. All statements in U-Write are based on those documented documents. Forest stands behind his work.
Do not lie in the mud with the sucker fish and allow the Eco-Wackos to kick mud in your face. Forest grew up on a farm back in the Great Depression. Forest says to stand tall, write those letters and dare them to come after you. You are correct and they are wrong. The federal agents are breaking the law. So goes the Klamath Basin, so goes America. All American citizens must write letters using U-Write KBD !!!
Forest has placed the explosives and set the fuse. All you have to do is light them. Writing those letters will ignite those fuses and blow Klamath Basin and Scott Valley dirt all over Congress and the White House. Even the Supreme Court will have your dirt on their floor. Misprision of Felony is knocking at their doors. And Forest is the fall guy. They will confront him, not you. Forest stands ready for some excitement.
Forest has been researching this data for about 32 years and has written and mailed all the documents. Surely you can put in 15 minutes per letter of your time and several bucks to mail each one to save your farms and your ay of life. It is best that you send your letters via Priority Mail, Certified, Return Receipt Requested. But send them! And save those receipts.
Every resident citizen -- Man, Wife and and child (if old enough) -- must write letters. We need volume.
MOTIVE OF FOREST GLEN DURLAND
You will undoubtedly ask why Forest Glen Durland, living in California in the Bay Area, is so actively helping the Klamath Basin and Scott Valley. Forest has been researching the deteriorating condition of the United States for about 32 years. His goal has become that of saving this Constitutional Republic for his kids and grand kids, but people have simply not been listening. When Forest learned of the Klamath Basin/Scott Valley crisis, he recognized a chance to accomplish his goal. The problems are nearly identical. He also recognized the fact that so go the farmers in the Klamath Basin and Scott Valley, so goes America. So he pitched in to help the Farmers and Loggers with his already completed research. We can not afford to be defeated. Losing must not be an option. Your letters will win.
General Directions for Writing Letters
Many people hesitate to write their national representatives in Washington, DC for fear that politicians might toss back embarrassing questions to them. Hesitation results from not knowing how and what to say. To alleviate this dilemma, U-Write has been created. Carefully worded and documented sentences are ready for copying. This keeps you on subject and brief. You don’t even have to think. Just copy as directed.
Proper letter form is demonstrated. Proper addresses for Klamath County, Oregon, and Siskiyou County, California are listed. Other areas and states can follow the pattern. You can click on Zip To It for information about your national leaders.
Please note: It is best to write to your Congress Critters at their local state address to evade the volume, especially now with the anthrax stall. Some of those people receive thousands of pieces of mail weekly, even daily, at their Washington DC office. So, send it to their local state address. However, for the Supreme Court, the White House and Senator Daschle, home addresses are not available.
Always be polite. Rudeness will end up in the basket. You can be business like and firm, but you must show respect. After all, you are asking for something, even if they are working for you.
Of great importance - Hand write the letter in your own hand writing. Be neat and legible. Hand written, dated and signed letters are powerful. Typewriters and word processors are OK, but do not mass copy.
Be unique. Each letter should be different. Mass copied letters may go straight to the trash.
Always show your return address, complete with zip code. Otherwise the politician can toss your letter in the basket with no qualms. You must legibly show your address if you expect an answer.
If you should get a reply with questions, simply select an answer from U-Write. The less you say, the less you can goof up. You can also refer them to the uhuh web page for some long over due study. If you still need help figuring out an answer, simply contact your group leader or Forest Glen Durland at one of the contacts listed below. If time will permit, he will tell you what to write. We must all do our part to overcome the serious problems facing this nation. And we can do it. It is so simple, if only you will write some letters!
So start creating a letter and have some fun. You have always wanted to tell your Congress Critters about this stuff. So have at it!
Sincerely, Forest Glen Durland, a concerned grandfather.

U-Write Klamath Basin and Scott Valley -- to your National Leaders
Instructions: You should hand write separate letters. It is highly recommended that you use your own hand writing. Pick only one sentence set from each Group to avoid repetition.
Letters should be sent Priority Mail, Certified, Return Receipt Requested.
Save those receipts when they return and give them to your group leader, if you have one. The leaders can then tally the number of letters mailed. That total should be posted on uhuh.com.
The national capitol receives thousands of pieces of mail each day. Plus, the capitol post offices are stalled with the anthrax sniffers, so use their local, state address. Priority Mail is supposed to ride on top of the mail bag and get first attention.
Always close formally. Pick one close. Be sure to sign your name so it can be read.
But most important, write those letters and mail them!
If you find any errors, please email me immediately at so that I can correct them. Please tell me which page and which section. Thanks.
Forest Glen Durland.

Pick one sentence set (1 paragraph). Best to take only ONE per group, please, to avoid repetition.
GROUP 1. INTRODUCTORY STATEMENT
This letter concerns the Klamath Basin Document (KBD) which was mailed to Speaker Hastert and Senator Daschle on February 28, 2002.
The Klamath Basin Water Crisis has been explained in the Klamath Basin Document (KBD). Having been mailed to Speaker Hastert and Senator Daschle on February 28, 2002, you should be well aware of it by this time.
The Klamath Basin Document (KBD) is the key to our survival out here on the farm.
Mailed to Speaker Hastert and Senator Daschle on February 28, 2002 by Priority Mail, Certified, Return Receipt Requested, the Klamath Basin Document (KBD) is of vital concern to my farm and my family.
Shutting down the KID Headgates really hurt us farmers, as explained in the Klamath Basin Document (KBD).
My feelings about government shutting off our irrigation water are very well explained in the Klamath Basin Document (KBD). Please read it.
My concerns have been put in writing in the Klamath Basin Document (KBD) which documents government illegally stealing my irrigation water.
In my opinion, government has absolutely no right to control my irrigation water. I support the Klamath Basin Document (KBD).
KBD -- Klamath Basin Document -- tells it all. I demand that you act favorably on it, today.
We MUST have our irrigation water. Please study the Klamath Basin Document (KBD) and help us.
Government has made me go broke. Please read the Klamath Basin Document (KBD) and help me.
We farmers in the Klamath Basin are in a desperate situation and need your help. The KBD explains it well.
GROUP 2. LAND, WATER, WILDLIFE -- Pick one paragraph.
This situation is very simple: Our Constitution limits land control and use by the federal government. The federal bureaucracy must leave the Klamath Basin and Scott Valley.
Our water must be returned to us immediately.
The Constitution of the United States limits federal government control and use of land. To consider other arguments is to violate the Constitution.
The trash sucker fish was never in danger and the Coho salmon does not spawn in the Klamath River. Yet unconstitutional agencies used those excuses to take our water.
Why is government bent on closing a major food producing region? Is it some kind of insane control?
Our Constitution does not authorize the BoR and the BLM. Why are they taking our water?
Treaties are inferior to the Constitution of the United States and have no standing here. No wildlife, no bird, animal, insect, fish or plant can authorize government to steal a farmer's land and rights.
The Supreme Court ruled that we have the right to be let alone. Why are unconstitutional agencies unconstitutionally taking our water and telling us how to farm our land?
I do not understand why power companies can take our water. Our rights date way back.
I demand that the EPA and its demon child ESA be abolished. They control my land in violation of our Constitution.
In the old days before the dam, the falls completely dried up in the fall. So what is all this water shortage nonsense about now?
Thanks to our unconstitutional bureaucracy, I can no longer provide for my family.
I have a farm, but without water I cannot grow enough food to feed my family. Thanks a lot, you guys.
My children go to school with holes in their shoes because government shut off my income when they shut off my water.
[Have some more fun. Pick a 3rd sentence set.]
GROUP 3. DEMAND FAVORABLE ACTION ON KBD, INTERNET ADDRESS
The KBD must be read and acted upon favorably immediately by you. You can read it at . Click on Klamath.
"Constitution Trumps Treaties" points out that no treaty, not even the UN Charter, can supersede the Constitution. Therefore, no bird or fish can take our land away from us. Please enter in your browser and click on Klamath.
I demand that you enforce the Magna Cartas, American Style, written by Forest Glen Durland. They are at . Click on Klamath.
So go the Klamath Basin and Scott Valley farmers and loggers, so goes America. Please act on the KBD immediately. Go to and click on Klamath.
Please study the Klamath Basin Document by Forest at .
You must study the Klamath Basin Document (KBD). Go to and click on Klamath to read it.
Favorable action on the KBD would give me some hope in Washington, DC. Go to and click on Klamath.
If I did what government is doing, I would be locked up for life. How about reading that KBD and straightening out this mess? Go to and click on Klamath.
Let's see, now. We have the KBD. We have Misprision of Felony. We have notice. Now we need some action before we have to start some. Let's see, now. How about Accessory After the Fact. How about Oath of Office and Color of Law. You will find the KBD at . Click on Klamath. It has all the documentation.
Years of research are behind the KBD. We demand some decent action back there in DC. Go to and click on Klamath.
The KBD points out a simple fact: The Constitution limits federal government land control. So, let's get government out of the Klamath Basin and Scott Valley very soon. Details are at . Click on Klamath.
"Could have known and should have known" is a legal precedent dating all the way back to Abe Lincoln. Those running our federal government better study the KBD immediately. They have absolutely no excuse. Go to and click on Klamath for details.
The KBD points out that those in government are seriously violating the Constitution and their Oath of Office. That sure sounds like the dictatorship that my Dad fought in the war. We better tend to this matter before it gets any worse. You will find the KBD at . Click on Klamath.
Dad must be turning over in his grave. Too bad he couldn't be here to hand carry the KBD to you. He'd also take his deeds from you guys and wave them in your face, like your agents did with guns at the gates. Go to , click on Klamath and study the KBD.
[Feel really creative. Add a 4th sentence set.]
GROUP 4. MORE DETAILED STUFF
How can you Folks back there even accept your pay while you let federal agents starve us off our land?
We will no longer tolerate blatant violations of our Constitution by a bloated bureaucracy.
Your help is urgently needed to save our Constitutional Republic.
The federal government is errant and totally unconstitutional in its actions in the Klamath Basin water crisis.
The Misprision of Felony law dictates that you must act on this problem of an errant government.
People have the right to be let alone, ruled by the Supreme Court.
Please cause honest justice to return to our courts. We demand that our Constitution be respected. Violators must go to prison.
Those making and enforcing laws have no excuse not to know the Constitution of the U.S. They must be sent to prison for violating it.
The government has broken me. I have no money to fight my own government in court.
I am appealing to you as a last resort. I do not have a million dollars to fight my way up through the courts.
Government forced us to lose all the growing season last year. We demand immediate payment for our loss so we can get our farm producing again.
Treaties can NOT supersede our Constitution, which limits government control of land. So what is the UN doing listing hundreds of species and areas as endangered in the Klamath Basin
[Be professional. Add a 5th sentence set.]
GROUP 5. COURT ACTION, GUNS, IRS
Our Constitution does not authorize the BoR, BLM and USFS. Why do their agents wear guns and take our water?
Federal agents were “in-your-face” with guns at the Headgates. Where does our Constitution give them that authority?
The Federalist Papers guarantee our right to carry guns to protect life, liberty and property. Must we carry guns to protect our water in memory of the old water wars?
Where but in Nazi Germany or in the USSR would this happen? I thought that was why my father fought in the war and settled here in the Klamath Basin.
A law called Misprision of Felony requires citizens to report crimes. How can Congress and the White House not know about this law and our water rights? Well, you know now.
Government has violated its own Constitution and shut off our water. Isn't that fraudulent misrepresentation? Those responsible should be sent to prison.
Supreme Court rulings supersede Presidential Executive Orders and agency rulings to the contrary. I would like to be let alone.
There is no law that says we must pay income tax. So why does the IRS threaten us? Congressman Armey says we are taxed 80 % higher than any other industrialized nation.
Why are we taxed more than farmers in any other industrialized country ? Apparently you guys do not like American farmers. Well, we do not like your NAFTA, either.
The first 2/3 of income tax is wasted and lost. Of the rest, every dime goes to pay interest only on the national debt, which continues to grow rapidly. We should quit paying.
We don't want to fight our own government. Why won't they leave us alone so we can farm?
The Indians sold their reservation to the federal government and have no claim to our water or rights. Our taxes have already paid them.
5 USC 706 encourages citizens to take government to court. Can we sue the unconstitutional agencies? Can we sue Congress and the President for these Constitutional violations?
The only agencies that should be in the Klamath Basin and Scott Valley are the Post Office, Veteran's Affairs and Social Security until it is repaid. All others should be banned.
Why can agencies violate the law? If I did what they did, I would be in jail.

Always close formally. Pick one close. Be sure to sign your name legibly.
Until election, [Yours truly, Sincerely, Respectfully, With regards, Thank you,] John Q. Doe

CHILDREN
Following are powerful letters for children to write. Be sure your story is true. Us these or compose new ones. How about can't buy fuel for the tractor. Can't buy shoes to wear to school. If it weren't for the Klamath Relief Fund, I don't what we would do for food and clothes. Two sentences will do just great for these little kiddy letters. Use your imagination. Letters like these will make the news, and that is exactly what we need. When the media starts talking honestly about the KBD, we probably will have won.
Dear Mr. Congressman,
Our farm water is gone. A man said you know where it is. Daddy needs our water to make food grow on our farm. We need food and clothes. I need water so I can bring my pony home.
Daddy looks awful worried and tired all the time. Mommy cries every night.
Betsy Kruger
Age 11
Dear Senator,
We had to sell our chickens and cow. Daddy can't find work to buy things. When we had water, we had all those things on our farm.
Sometimes Daddy comes home from hunting work and acts like he is drunk. He scares us and makes Mommy cry. We cry with her and Daddy gets mad and stomps out.
It was never this way before you turned off our water. I do not understand.
Bobby Osterling
Age 10
Dear Mr. Hastert,
Why did you take our water? Daddy doesn't have money to buy food because our farm is all dried up. The Klamath Relief Fund keeps us from starving. Even the wild ducks are hungry.
Mary Jones
Age 9
Dear Mr. Congressman,
We have never been rich, but we had the things we needed. But now, without irrigation water, we have no way to earn a living. Going to school with holes in my shoes is terribly embarrassing. I could not stand it and would stay home except that many of my friends are the same way.
We are all trying to figure out why our federal government has become so cruel. The reasons they give for stopping our irrigation water simply do not make any sense. Your are our Congressman. Can't you please help us?
Janice Moreland
Age 14
