Both Scott McDonald at the "Fight the Fingerprint" webpage and the principals at The Wallace Institute have been awaiting the publication in the Federal Register of several govt agencies "Know Your Customer" regulations, which promise bank spying on customers. When those regs came out yesterday morning, I downloaded them and proceeded to draft letters to object to them. My first letter was to the FDIC and Scott posted that letter to his page last night. Today, I completed my letter to the "Fed" Reserve Board and it was just posted moments ago.

I request that everyone examine these letters and use them as patterns for your own letters of objection. If you get very detailed, please follow my letters to each agency. The FDIC claims an alleged basis for its regs based on certain statutes, and the Fed claims others as support for its own. Consequently, I had to examine them all. Of course, I contend that no statute anywhere supports the KYC regs, but if you plan to cite statutes, please be accurate and use my letters as a pattern.
I would also like to note that many, like me, have no love for the Fed. While I stayed specifically on point with my objections to the regs, I had to bite my tongue to keep from going off on other issues. But if you have some complaint against the Fed, don't let me stand in your way:
VENT STEAM. This is an opportunity to communicate with the Fed, which must read your letter and ultimately (if it is honest, HAHAHA) respond when it acts on the regs. I do hope that if massive numbers write letters, we can stop the regs just like we did with the DoT's National ID regs. May the voice of the American people be heard.
