Gasoline - Forumulation requirements are so strict and
varying from state to state that it is no wonder shortages and prices
soar. See the map at

- That map's an eye-opener. A gasoline manufacturer with
ambitions of selling nationwide has to deal with more than thirty
blends and formulations! Guess wrong, and one region or another
will have shortages. And just think, each of those formulations
is policed by throngs of bureaucrats and pencil-pushers. And then
heavily taxed.
