THE MILITIA'S LEGAL FUNCTION IS TO STOP TYRANNY IN GOVERNMENT.
But "WHAT and "WHO" is the MILITIA'?
What we know for sure is that we soldiers and police officers are being told by the despots in our government and in their media, that any who are involved in, or promote the MILITIA, are the BAD GUYS. This always make the wise leery. It makes us want to look at the real evidence, the FACTS. First, we are told that when our Founding Fathers mentioned the militia they were speaking of the "organized" National Guard within our states. This is not true for several reasons. One is that the National Guard was not around then. The Congress created the Guard system in 1903 and controls it completely.
Our Founding Fathers described very well in 1 their writings, the three basic classes of LAWFUL military-type forces in America. ONE: The "Standing Army", recognized today as the "regular" forces, consisting of the active and reserve components of the Army, Air Force, and Navy. TWO: The "Organized Militia." This today is the National Guard and Naval Militias. THREE: The Founders called it by several names: "citizens militia", "general militia", or as termed, by them, in our Bill of Rights (Second Amendment) - "a well-regulated militia" . This was the PRIVATE non-government-controlled militia, sometimes referred to as the "Unorganized Militia." These are all those Americans who are not in government controlled forces. One good example of this militia was the unorganized militia that George Washington organized in 1774. The Fairfax County, Virginia Militia Association, a private militia, was independent and not subject to the dictates of the governor. Here are several quotes about the "private militia" of which the Founders spoke.
James Madison - "A well-regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained in arms, is the best and most natural defense of a free country. "
Samuel Adams - Urging his fellow patriots/militia in New England to ready themselves, stated: "...to provide themselves without delay, arms and ammunition, get well instructed in the military art, embody themselves, and prepare a complete set of rules that they may be ready to defend themselves against despotism".
George Mason - "What is the Militia? It consists of the whole people."
Richard Henry Lee - "To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them." ..."A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves. "
Does this sound like the Founders were speaking of an ORGANIZED government body, such as the National Guard of the state? Are their words in any way ambiguous or difficult to understand'? So why do you suppose the socialists in our government and their media have so much trouble defining the militia'? Perhaps...they have trouble telling the truth.
Today in America, we still have some who tell the truth and understand well the Founders' intent on the true people's militia. Examples:
W. Cleon Skousen - "The State Militia is confused many times as the National Guard, which is a specialized reserve corps in each state trained at federal expense for immediate service. Under Title 10, section 31 of the U.S. Code, the militia of each state includes "all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and under 45 years of age who are or have made a declaration of intent to become citizens." - From his book, The Making of America. Sheriff Richard Mack, Graham County, Arizona - In Sheriff Mack's recent book untitled "From My Cold Dead Fingers - Why America Needs Guns", I read the following: "...Trench Coxe, a close friend of James Madison, proclaimed, "The powers of the sword are in the hands of the yeomanry (people) of America from sixteen to sixty." "... Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves..? Congress has no power to disarm the militia."
Sheriff Mack further states, "Does it not seem today that our American Government is afraid to trust the people with arms? And if so, why? Could it be the representatives of the people know they have betrayed their constituents, and intend to further do so? Is there any debate left over who the militia of these free commonwealths" (states) really are? ...Keeping Americans armed with weapons sufficient to discourage government tyranny was a condition the first Statesmen intended to remain intact." We have now established that the American people's militia is a LAWFUL and important part of the people's defense of the Republic. It is one of the important "checks and balances" within our Country. And we as Officers of the Law, have sworn to protect the Constitution and the people's rights. The militia is one of those rights. And our duty is to assist, if we can, as they command these necessary forces for good. We can help them as they seek good militia leaders. They will need intelligent, reasonable, and God-Fearing, leaders of the caliber of our Forefathers. Leaders who are not "Hot-Heads", but, understand that every nonviolent effort must be attempted in saving our great REPUBLIC for our posterity, before righteously taking action explained by Jefferson thusly, "The tree of liberty must be watered from time to time with the blood of Tyrants and Patriots." The mere formation of militias may prevent the necessity of their use.
America's Socialist/Globalist leaders in the Democratic and Republican parties fear the People's MILITIA, and must get their Enforcers (police officers and soldiers) to CRUSH THEM. But, HOW can they get us to crush those in our society who are on the side of freedom and
