AMENDMENT OF CIVIL-SERVICE RULES.

EXECUTIVE MANSION, March 28, 1896.

Special Departmental Rule No. I, clause 3, is hereby amended by striking from 
the list of places excepted from examination in the Department of the Interior 
assistant attorneys and law clerks, and these places will hereafter be treated 
as subject to competitive examination.
