Congressman George Hansen "This is Congressman George Hansen --- A seven -term veteran of the United States House of Representatives, and former Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Since my first election to Congress in 1964, I have been known as America’s leading champion of the people, because I have taken on every abusive and violent government dragon sent out to harm and destroy the rights and well-being of the American people.
I am the author of the Taxpayer Bill of Rights, the leader of the successful battle before the U.S. Supreme Court to stop illegal OSHA inspections in the workplace, the leader in congress to stop the giveaway of the Panama Canal, and the only U.S. government official to get into Iran during the 444-day hostage crisis of 1979-81.
The list goes on, but my effectiveness against government tyranny and liberal treachery got me on every political hit list for defeat at the polls and legal destruction. These forces tried everything to defeat me and finally got the Department of Justice to frame me and railroad me out of Congress. It took ten long years, but the U.S. Supreme Court finally cleared me, saying that the prosecution was wrong and should never have happened.
But, this ten year fight had seen me in and out of prison three times for a total of four years behind bars, during which time I became known as America’s most famous political prisoner. I have been abducted by Federal Marshals; hidden in abandoned jails; had my name changed so nobody -- not my wife, nor my attorney, nor the media, or 56 Members of Congress -- could find me; and been three times on the torturous "diesel therapy", bound hand and foot in chains for twenty hours a day for weeks at a time shuttling from prison to prison across America.
They wrecked my career; drove my wife and me out of our home causing us to lose all of our personal possessions; smashed our family life in a furious twenty-year legal fight; bankrupt us; and committed us to every possible abusive, brutal and illegal act to physically and mentally cripple or destroy both of us so we would never again be a threat to the "establishment." But, they failed!
I came home with twenty-four teeth broken off at the gum line, with shins terribly scarred, and with ten toes without nails because I had to pull them out by the roots to get shoes on. I also had a shopping list of diseases seriously affecting my bodily functions. Doctors say the condition of my legs and feet are severe and permanent, and dentists conclude that I have been left a dental cripple for life. But worse news is that this brutal and death dealing law enforcement is happening to people all over America.
