Appreciation Appreciation for Efforts
Congressman George Hansen, retired, lectured to students at High School. This appearance was certainly appreciated. Students in Silicone Valley had their eyes opened to the real world that they had better be aware of before they mature. If we adults do not succeed in ending the corruption, our children will be left with the chore.
But beyond being here, the dedication and effort in wanting to get here, and then getting here deserves special gratitude. Congressman Hansen has a special message to give. He is also living evidence and documentation of violent corruption in our government. And he came here to High School to share those truths with the students.
Special thanks goes to Peter Martin, the pilot who arranges the California schedules and then flies George Hansen on his tours. They braved dangerous weather in the Northwest to arrive here.
A chilling series of events should be of interest to the readers.
Before leaving Oregon, Petes private plane was serviced. Upon starting the engine, oil blew all over the place. The mechanic had forgotten to replace the oil plug, an error that can easily be fatal in an airplane. It is conceivable that damage could have been done to the engine at that time, but not noticed.
To miss the storms over the mountains between Oregon and California, Pete took a route out over the Pacific Ocean. Even then they had to cope with icing on the wings. Had anything gone seriously wrong, Pete and George would have been looking for the back of a BIG whale for an emergency landing strip.
A couple of weeks later, Petes brother was flying that same plane over the Rocky Mountains when the turbo went out, blowing out all the oil. Fortunately, he was able to glide onto a landing strip. Had that happened a couple of weeks previously, Pete and George would have been very seriously looking for that whale.
Thanks lots, guys. Glad you made it home ok.
