MORE ON THE CHINA CONNECTION
We've been writing about it for a year. Now, most media have a piece of the action. For starters, there's those little matters of the President of the United States allowing communist China to obtain much of our best cryptography, the supercomputers and tooling necessary to make nuclear weapons, the missile technology necessary to deliver said nuclear bombs over here, the satellite technology necessary to bring the Chinese military forces out of the dark ages, and all sorts of sophisticated high- tech military communications equipment.
There's not really much we need to know here. The Clinton, Clinton & Gore campaign coffers and the Democratic Party collected millions of dollars in campaign donations from both the communist Chinese and American war equipment manufacturers. The Communist Chinese wanted the sophisticated technology necessary to launch satellites and target ICBM's at us. The chief executives of the equipment manufacturing companies also donated big bucks to the Democratic Party, which was used for the Clinton campaign -- because they, of course, wanted permission to sell communist China billions of dollars worth of high tech equipment. Clinton, and the officials from the party of the ass, got paid from both ends to allow the deals to happen. And, happen they did. Big time.
Now, the other shoe drops.
Bill Gertz of The Washington Times opened another top-notch investigative piece last Wednesday (3-10-99) on China:
China's acquisition of U.S. nuclear warhead technology will give Beijing a major boost in its strategic capability when added to other recent improvements to its long-range missiles, military analysts said.U.S. officials said a Chinese government document revealed that China had obtained design information for the W-88 nuclear warhead, the most advanced U.S. nuclear bomb that is used on Trident II submarine- launched ballistic missiles. This design information was obtained from Wen Ho Lee, an agent working at the Energy Department's Los Alamos National Laboratory. The disclosure was a rare counterintelligence breakthrough exposing Chinese spying, which has continued largely unnoticed by the public for years.
Rep. Christopher Cox, California Republican and head of the China committee, said he is concerned about what appeared to be a pattern of lax security at U.S. weapons labs that "failed to take even minimal steps necessary for counterintelligence."
Yeah, no kidding. And it's been going on right in plain sight at a number of places for the past six years. Sen. Don Nickles (R-OK), said the administration "obviously received a lot of money from individuals that had some connections with the Chinese government. ... And evidently there was a significant amount of espionage ongoing." That's an understatement.
According to CIA reports, China now has about 20 long-range strategic missiles, 13 of which are aimed at U.S. cities. Each of the missiles has a huge, single warhead called a "city buster." OK, so there goes LA, San Francisco, Chicago, Detroit, New York City and Washington, DC. Who else?
Clinton wanted his legacy. There it is. And, he and the DNC -- the party of the ass -- are responsible. Well, them and a few money-grubbing military-industrial complex executives. Let's hope they enjoy the money.
Through his own good investigative work, Charles R. Smith of Softwar (http://www.softwar.net) reports that:
The Chinese Army is building 1,000 air breathing cruise missiles with help from Russia. The 1,000 airborne missiles are in addition to the expected deployment of 1,000 ballistic missiles by the PLA over the next 4 years. Several hundred Russian cruise missile engineers are working in China on the new project.
And, the W-88 nuclear warhead technology Clinton and company allowed the Chinese to steal from us just happens to be ideal for those cruise missiles. Fancy that!
The administration did not want to "disturb ongoing negations" with the communist Chinese. Therefore, they allowed the spies to exist, and steal, for a few years. Also, it has been reported that Secretary of State Madeline Albright did not want the United States to be the only superpower in the world. Draw your own conclusion there. Anyway, a new excuse factory is starting at the White House. This week's offering concerns the spy at Los Alamos National Laboratory:
"The moment the FBI gave me the green light to terminate this individual, I did," said Energy Secretary Bill Richardson. Richardson said he had been advised not to pursue the dismissal until "a thorough investigation and questioning took place." Sure.
"We believe with the measures in place and the counterintelligence presence that we have at the labs now, the polygraphs, the increased scrutiny ... we believe the problem is addressed," Richardson told AP.
Also, Al "no controlling legal opinion" Gore was sent over to CNN to offer another style of disinformation: "That happened during the previous administration," Gore tried to say with a straight face. "That happened back in the 1980s. And as soon as the investigation identified targets of that investigation, then the law-enforcement community handled that very aggressively. It resulted in a presidential directive that completely changed the procedures at the weapons labs." But, no one was arrested and Wen Ho Lee conveniently disappeared.
Clinton had zero experience with national security and foreign affairs. So, the Clinton Administration hired two magazine writers and a college teacher to run national security for the United States. That's about like hiring a truck tire repair man to clean your teeth. Ouch! But, soon the Clintons and the officials at the DNC (Sen. Dodd) learned there was big money to be had by allowing trafficking in war materials. Now, we all will pay. We will pay for decades to come. A lot of us, maybe, with our lives.
That's what happens when character doesn't count anymore and the national media covers it all up simply so they can put a socialist in the White House. The bottom line is that now deviant communists, with zero respect for human life, can nuke us at will.
So, OK, we see political activity a little differently out here in the Foothills of Appalachia. Fine. We admit it. Therefore, would someone in Washington please define for us exactly where that bright legal line is between being a stupid, inconsiderate bastard and committing out and out treason?
House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-TX) announced last week that he is reintroducing legislation to scrap the current tax system and replace it with a flat 17 percent tax on all income. [H.R. 1040, summary at: http://www.flattax.gov/proposal/flat-sum.asp ]
"Filling out an IRS tax form can be a frightening experience," said Armey. "The forms and instructions we must deal with are complicated and confusing. Millions would rather pay someone else to deal with their returns than face this frustration. But there's no reason that our system needs to be so complex. My flat tax proposal offers a simple, fair alternative. It allows everyone to file their returns on a simple, postcard-sized form."
The Armey flat tax bill, H.R. 1040, replaces the current federal tax code with a system where both individuals and businesses pay the same 17 percent tax on all income. Individuals would pay this rate after taking a generous personal exemption. That means, for example, that a family of four would pay no tax on the first $35,400 of their income.
"The flat tax offers relief to an America that is overtaxed, and burdened by the current tax system," said Armey. "Millions would find their tax burden reduced -- or eliminated entirely -- under the flat tax. But the flat tax offers no breaks for special interests. No loopholes for powerful lobbies. Just a simple tax system that treats everyone the same." And, to get some idea how you would do under the flat tax compared to the current income tax system, Armey provides a Tax Season Tax Calculator. http://www.flattax.gov/
The U.S. income tax code is a monument to unnecessary waste. The income tax system is so complex, the IRS publishes 480 tax forms and 280 forms to explain the 480 forms. The IRS sends out eight billion pages of forms and instructions each year which, if laid end to end, would circle the earth 28 times. Nearly 300,000 trees are cut down each year to produce the paper on which IRS forms and instructions are printed.
Each year, Americans devote 5.4 billion hours complying with the tax code, which is more time than it takes to build every car, truck and van produced in the United States. The cost of complying with the tax system totals about $200 billion annually, or $700 for every man, woman and child in America. High marginal tax rates discourage work, saving and entrepreneurial activity, which leads to a smaller economy. By favoring certain economic activities over others, the tax code distorts financial decisions and reduces economic efficiency.
According to a study by an economist with the Congressional Research Service, the corporate income tax costs the economy more in lost production than it raises in revenue for the Treasury. Dale Jorgenson, the chairman of the Economics Department at Harvard University, found that each extra dollar the government raises through the current system costs the economy $1.39.
The tax code does more than complicate people's lives during tax season and reduce living standards. It pollutes Washington's political culture. As special- interest provisions have been added to the tax code, Washington's lobbying industry has flourished. Washington's lobbying industry, which is the largest private employer in the nation's capital, generates $8.4 billion in revenue each year. If the lobbying industry were its own economy, it would be larger than the economies of 57 countries. While the thousands of lobbyists in Washington have prospered in an environment of tax favoritism, the typical taxpayer has not.
The Armey-Shelby flat tax (H.R. 1040) scraps the entire income tax code and replaces it with a flat-rate income tax that treats all Americans the same. This plan would simplify the tax code, promote economic opportunity, and restore fairness and integrity to the tax system. The flat rate would be phased-in over a three year period, with a 19 percent rate for the first two years and a 17 percent rate for subsequent years.
Well folks, that's their story and they're sticking to it. And, while it is tempting to buy into this plan, we can not. The most oppressive, un-Constitutional and un-American department of government is the Internal Revenue Service. To agree to the above plan is to agree to allow the IRS to continue to exist. And, to that, we most emphatically can never, ever do.
All branches of government must obey the Constitution, as written. Else, they must be abolished. Economics Professor Armey agrees with those words. We still await the day when Majority Leader Armey will, also.
It appears that the New York Times is a bit jealous of being scooped by our medium. Not by Heads Up, of course. We're not in the "breaking news" business. It's Internet news pages in general the Times seems to resent.
A case in point, in their Monday, March 8 issue was a piece by Felicity Barringer titled "Partisan Web Sites Gain Some Media Credibility."
First, she went on a little about "Capitol Hill Blue" (http://www.capitolhillblue.com), a fine news source operated by Doug Thompson -- who just happens to be a professional journalist. And, CHB happens to be on our daily reading list, right between The Washington Times and WorldNetDaily, so we found the piece in the New York Times especially interesting.
It seems that a few desk bound journalists were not getting their normal feed of "news" from the White House and Democratic National Committee disinformation committees, so they called Doug Thompson to get his sources on the Clinton rape stories.
Well, Doug Thompson became a little annoyed with these "reporters" and laid his case out nicely in a posted "Rant" commentary titled "A source of real frustration" (http://www.capitolhillblue.com/rantarchive/dailyrant030599.htm) that was not only a joy to read, but hit the nail squarely on the head. "Get real," Thompson wrote. "The trust that exists between a reporter and his or her source is often the only way any form of media -- mainstream, right, left or otherwise -- can report an important story."
Later, he closed with a self-evident (to us) truth that must have most of the liberal national media crying in their beer: "The rules have changed in the news business. The public no longer has to depend on a handful of megamedia organizations to decide what is or is not news. The average person with a computer can get his or her news from many more sources and evaluate for themselves what is or is not important."
Then, Barringer hints around that most Internet news sites are "partisan." What a thing to say in a newspaper known for its big government supporting, far left viewpoint. She writes that, "Web sites are becoming early warning systems for the mainstream press. Like talk radio, they are filled with free-form invective. Like trailers from a new X-Files movie, they offer previews of coming attractions from places where conspiracy is king."
Wow! Where might that be? Could it be that when we write straight news about the federal government it often just naturally sounds like some type of a conspiracy against the American people? That's entirely possible, when looked at from a big government supporting, liberal viewpoint.
Then, The New York Times took on the very popular Free Republic site. Barringer quotes Mark Hosenball, an investigative reporter in Newsweek's Washington bureau, as saying Free Republic is "more entertainment and a study in abnormal psychology than anything else."
A study in abnormal psychology? And this from someone working for a publication that hires editors the likes of Eleanor Clift? In liberal newspeak, "abnormal" must now define "honest American."
So, we picked up the telephone and asked Jim Robertson, owner and operator of the Free Republic site (http://www.freerepublic.com), how he found that stupid remark about his site and the many thousands of people visiting it daily:
The article talks about the web as a place where conspiracy is king. This may be true. When I started on the web, about five or six years ago, Whitewater and BimboGate were only conspiracy theories. And we on the web who followed these stories were labeled "conspiracy theorists" by the mainstream press. But our investigations into these matters soon revealed the very real involvement of the Lippo Group, Moctar and James Riady, John Huang, Charlie Trie, Johnny Chung, Webb Hubbell and Ron Brown, et al, into Clinton's Chinese Communist campaign cash for military secrets deal. Other conspiracies included: CattleGate, Travelgate, the raid on Vince Foster's office and the circumstances of his strange death and bungled investigation thereof, Coal-Gate, the Chinese Army (COSCO) takeover of the Long Beach Naval Yards, the deal with Kabila for Zaire diamond and mineral contracts for Clinton's friends, the Buddhist Monks campaign dollars to Gore and Clinton, campaign finance fraud, the deal with Loral and satellite technology to China in trade for Bernie Swartz's campaign cash, Genifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Kathleen Wiley, Juanita Broddrick, Monica Lewinsky, and on and on.
Investigations into these so-called conspiracies are proving them to be mostly true. And the true depth of the corruption and treason is just now coming to the surface. We are yet to learn just how much damage has actually been done to our national security. One thing we do know, however, is that thanks to Clinton's policies, which he loosened for campaign cash, the Communist Chinese and the North Koreans each now have nuclear weapons that are capable of taking out U.S. cities. And the fault can be laid squarely at the feet of the old mainstream press for failing in its "watchdog" duties. The new free press, made up of individuals on the web, are only trying to fill in for the AWOL watchdogs.
We feel that as long as the complicit press is going to lie and spin and cover-up for government corruption, then it is our duty to expose them. And what better tool to use than their own propaganda? Our readers post their articles to our forum and our news hounds and truth seekers tear them to pieces.
When the cell door finally slams shut on the Clinton crime spree, I'm guessing that the mainstream press will be found complicit in the corruption. Too bad. The national nightmare and embarrassment of the least ethical administration in our history could have been avoided had only the press done its job in 1992, or at anytime thereafter.
I thought Mark Hosenball's comment that Free Republic is 'more entertainment and a study in abnormal psychology than anything else' was especially telling. Newsweek, and their ilk, have gone way out of their way in the last few years to protect an obvious sociopathic wreck and his dysfunctional family in our White House.
Here here! In truth, the old media is dying a slow, agonizing death. Because, simply put, they are no longer believed by normal Americans. It's not just that their bias shows. It's also that that they feel free to berate all others who do not have their far-left socialist leanings.
Soon, they will understand. They are just writers, reporters, not the experts on everything they write about. But, by the time they learn that, there may be no one reading them anymore.
We went looking for Rep. Bob Barr's new bill to stop every little city and town from suing gun manufactures for the illegal activities of its citizens and got a little sidetracked by the oppressive bills introduced by the socialists in the party of the ass. Some of these bills are so stupid they are almost comical. Anyway, below is a summary of what we found.
Sen. Frank Lautenberg, never a friend of liberty, introduced S.443 and Rep. Rod Blagojevich and 27 cosponsors introduced H.R.902. This one, called the "Gun Show Accountability Act," is another of Clinton's assaults on our gun rights.
Basically, the bills states that gun show operators must: "not later that 30 days before commencement of the gun show," notify the Treasury Secretary "of the date, time, duration, and location of the gun show and any other information concerning the gun show as the Secretary may require by regulation;" and "not later than 72 hours before commencement of the gun show, submits to the Secretary an updated list of all gun show vendors planning to participate in the gun show and any other information concerning such vendors as the Secretary may require by regulation." Organizers must also "verify the identity of each gun show vendor participating in the gun show by examining a valid identification document," and notify "each person who attends the gun show of the requirements of this chapter, in accordance with such regulations as the Secretary shall prescribe." Then, just to make things more difficult for American citizens they added: "it shall be unlawful for any person who is not licensed under this chapter to transfer a firearm to another person who is not licensed under this chapter, unless the firearm is transferred through a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, or licensed dealer." Got that? No more giving or selling an old gun to family or friends.
Rep. Patrick Kennedy submitted H. R. 724, with the half-baked idea of federally funding the "Gun Buy Back Partnership Grant Act of 1999." It is said to be "A bill to assist State and local governments in conducting community gun buy back programs."
California socialist and Clinton cheerleader, Sen. Barbara Boxer, introduced S.193, called the "American Handgun Standards Act of 1999." The bill would amend the Federal criminal code to prohibit the manufacture, transfer, or possession of a junk gun that has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce. And, in this bill, the term "junk gun means any handgun that does not meet the standard imposed on imported handguns."
Rep. Luis Gutierrez introduced H. R. 35, another bill to amend "the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to prohibit the possession or transfer of a junk gun (defined as a handgun that is not a sporting handgun, as determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, and any combination of parts from which such handgun can be assembled) which has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce."
Sen. Frank Lautenberg, and a few other well known socialists from the party of the ass, struck again with S. 407. This one makes it illegal for stores, "during any 30-day period, to sell 2 or more handguns to an individual who is not licensed under section 923; or to sell a handgun to an individual who is not licensed under section 923 and who purchased a handgun during the 30-day period ending on the date of the sale."
Rep. Robert Ney and 11 cosponsors introduced H. R. 735, the "Gun Retention Act of 1999," to further expand federal powers over the American people. This bill "amends the Federal criminal code to set penalties for knowingly taking or attempting to take a firearm from a law enforcement officer against that officer's will while such officer is engaged in the performance of official duties. Imposes: (1) a fine and ten to 15 years' imprisonment for such an offense other than an attempt or for such an offense that is an attempt during which the firearm is discharged (other than intentionally by the officer); and (2) a fine and five to ten years' imprisonment for any other offense that is an attempt."
Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) and (only) 2 cosponsors introduced H. R. 407, the "Second Amendment Restoration Act of 1999." We need this one passed folks, so let's make some calls. The bill is designed to "amend title 18, United States Code, to provide for reciprocity in regard to the manner in which nonresidents of a State may carry certain concealed firearms in that State." States are already doing this among themselves. Paul's bill would make it uniform throughout the country.
Sen. Herb Kohl, and 4 other socialists from the party of the ass, introduced S. 149, the "Child Safety Lock Act of 1999." This stupid bill proposes: "it shall be unlawful for any licensed manufacturer, licensed importer, or licensed dealer to sell, deliver, or transfer any handgun to any person other than a licensed manufacturer, licensed importer, or licensed dealer, unless the transferee is provided with a locking device for that handgun."
Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD), and 34 patriotic cosponsors, introduced H.R.347.IH, the "Citizens' Self- Defense Act of 1999." This bill is designed to help "protect the right to obtain firearms for security, and to use firearms in defense of self, family, or home, and to provide for the enforcement of such right." The bill declares that a person not prohibited under the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act from receiving a firearm "shall have the right to obtain firearms for security and to use firearms in defense of: (1) self or family against a reasonably perceived threat of imminent and unlawful infliction of serious bodily injury; (2) self or family in the course of the commission by another person of a violent felony against the person or a member of the person's family; and (3) the person's home in the course of the commission of a felony by another person."
Sen. Frank Lautenberg strikes yet another blow against liberty with S. 319, another "Childproof Handgun Act of 1999." This stupid, insignificant bill states, "it shall be unlawful for any licensed manufacturer, licensed importer, or licensed dealer to sell, deliver, or transfer any handgun to any person other than a licensed manufacturer, licensed importer, or licensed dealer, unless the handgun is childproof." So supposedly, under Lautenberg's bill, handguns would become like medication containers: easy for kids to figure out but difficult for senior citizens.
Rep. Julia Carson and 34 cosponsors introduced H.R.515, the "Child Handgun Injury Prevention Act." The bill instructs that, "the Secretary of the Treasury ... shall prescribe such regulations governing the design, manufacture, and performance of, and commerce in, handgun discharge protection products, as are necessary to reduce or prevent unreasonable risk of injury to children from the unintentional discharge of handguns."
And, last but not least: H.R.1032 was introduced by Rep. Bob Barr (R-GA) and joined by 34 cosponsors. That is the "bill to prohibit civil liability actions from being brought or continued against manufacturers, distributors, dealers, or importers of firearms or ammunition for damages resulting from the misuse of their products by others."
