The important thing to remember is that there need be no great emergency at Year 2000. There will bumps and some inconvenienc, but the world will not stop. Calculators and new computers will be available, as will be bookkeeping pads and pencils like I grew up with. So stash a few thousand bucks, some food and water. You'll survive. Remember the ant and the grasshopper. Be the ant, not the begging, stealing grasshopper.
